La socidad en la que crecimos tiene este factor de enseñarnos reglas, costumbres y más... sin cultivarnos el cuestionarnos de donde estás mismas vienen.
Pasan los años y podemos llegar a actuar sin cuestionarnos nada, todo en piloto automatico... siguiendo lo que nos enseñaron.
Este es el caso de Thanksgiving...
Que de verdad significa está celebración?
A nivel histórico, se podría decir que la "celebración" representa a los colonizadores que vinieron de Inglaterra a USA, teniendo una cena en "armonía" con los Indigenas nativos de la zona- entre más detalles claro- durante este día.
Obviamente el significado de Thanksgiving en traducción es: Día de acción de Gracias.
Dar graciar por todo lo que se tiene- comida, familia, hogar, comodidades y más.
Es un día bonito a nivel superficial... pero el origen como tal, no tanto si comenzamos a cuestionar...
El hecho de que se está honrando una colonización que no fue para nada pacífica- más alla de este día.
El hecho de que se inculcó comer un "Pavo" que representa comerlo en familia, todos juntos... pero ignorando que una vida (la del pavo) termina y se nos olvida que es un ser vivo que forma parte de la tierra como nosotros.
Se que deben leer esto y preguntarse... aja... y entonces? jajaja lo se.
Hace un año tampoco hubiera entendido este post.
PERO, vamos a cuestionarnos está celebración y comencemos a recordar a los Indigenas que fueron afectados por la colonización de los otros países en TODO sentido.
Si...dar las gracias por todo durante este día... pero también por quienes vinieron antes de nosotros y quienes pagarón el precio más alto al perder todo lo que conocian y tenian.
Tal vez en los tiempos de antes, comer carne, pavo, pollo o más era algo muy especial que solo se hacia una vez cada cierto tiempo, respetando los ciclos de la naturaleza, ya que nosotros los humanos también formamos parte de ella...
Si honramos la vida del pavo de está manera en Thanksgiving todo cambiaría...
Todo es acerca de la intención con la que actuamos y con la que recibimos está "celebración" en todo sentido.
Ideas para que las pienses, cuestiones y tengas tu experiencia con ellas.

The fact that beyond this 'thanksgiving' day, the colonization was not peaceful at all and is being honored.
The fact that eating a "Turkey" was instilled, which represents eating it as a family together... but ignoring that life (the one of the turkey) also ends. We are forgetting that this Turkey it's a living being that's part of the earth like just like us.
I know you must be reading this and wonder... so, what now? hahaha I know.
A year ago I would not have understood this post either.
BUT, I invite you to question this celebration and to start to remember the Indigenous people who were affected by the colonization of other countries in EVERY way.
Yes ... give thanks for everything during this day ... but also for those who came before us and who paid the highest price by losing everything they knew and had. Perhaps in the old days, eating meat, turkey, chicken or more was something very special that was only done once every so often, respecting the cycles of nature, since we humans are also part of it ... If we honor the life of the turkey in this way on Thanksgiving everything would change...
It's all about the intention in which we act and receive this "celebration" in every sense.
These are just ideas for you to think about, question and have your experience with.
