So... What exactly is "Beltane or May day"? Well before any explanation of this day... we need to introduce the concept of the Wheel of the year.
They are called "sabbaths" and these mark the passing of the seasons through a year.
During these main and middle season changes, the atmosphere is charged like electricity for magick, manifestation, and reflection.
The idea is to connect with Earth and celebrate as our ancestors did thousands of years ago.
It is very profound and powerful to connect with the ancient power that comes from living by the cycles of the Sun and Moon.
So what exactly is Beltane?
This sabbat occurs at the peak of spring.
Everything in nature is at its peak- meaning abundance, fertility, the fire of growth.
It takes place between April 30th and May 1st.
It falls between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice.
This time marks the summer coming closer and closer to us and the intrinsic feeling of sensuality and expression that the Sun is returning.
Beltane embodies sacred sexuality and the eternal cycle of death and rebirth required for the perpetuation of life.
No wonder this happens during the Taurus season- mother earth, sensuality, and abundance.
The fire of being born, and the coming together of growth.
It is the perfect time to take a moment and see what we have manifested, what ignites the fire within us...
